Hi, I’m Veronika

Our friends at A.S.K. (All Species Kinship) reached out to us about a recent rescue mission of theirs. Seven chickens were being housed in a small deck box, only being offered food and water once a day. They were skeletal, dehydrated, and so hungry that they were eating their own feces. Their enclosure had no heat source to protect them during the freezing weather. Thankfully, the family who had been raising them expressed concern with their continued care. They wanted better for them and were willing to surrender them to A.S.K.

Veronika has been settling in well; enjoying consistent meals and the warmth of her new home. After addressing malnutrition and infection concerns, she was cleared to meet her new friends - a group of Cornish Crosses that had recently been rescued from the Kaporos rituals. She’s a tad shy, but seems to be fitting in well with her new friends. After spending her first days in a small deck box fighting for her life, she is now living the good life foraging for bugs in her spacious yard.
