Hi, we’re the Witches
In December of 2022, we got a call about three turkeys with injuries that had wandered into a neighbor's yard and needed help. Initially believing they had been injured by another animal, it turns out their injuries were much worse than we thought.
After bringing the girls to the vet, we learned their injuries were thermo burns, most likely from heating lamps used to force egg production. With antibiotics and lots of wound care by our Animal Care staff, their burns are slowly healing.
We decided to name them Sabrina, Hilda, and Zelda and thus the Witches came to Barn. These girls are as sweet as can be and have made friends with Lewis, Harper, and Ben since moving into the turkey coop.
Sadly, we lost Zelda in March 2023 due to her injuries.
