Hi, I’m Percy
In November of 2022, Barn Sanctuary received a social media message about an injured chicken. A caring person found him left in a ditch after he was attacked by another animal. She turned to Barn to give Percy a chance at survival and to find a forever home.
Once we retrieved Percy, we discovered he had other injuries. In addition to a neck wound from being attacked, we also learned Percy has deformed legs die to improper nutrition when he was young and cannot walk properly.
Percy has grown into a very gentle rooster. After living with our Melons flock for several years, he was moved to a flock that was a little more his speed. He now resides with some of our elder, mobility challenged roosters. He has grown very close with our sweet rooster, Dougal.
