Hi, I’m Oscar
Oscar was originally rescued by Chicago Animal Care and Control. While Barn Sanctuary was there to bring home Hamilton and Strauss, they decided to bring Oscar home because he had a low probability of being adopted due to being antisocial.
After settling in at Barn, Oscar made quick friends with Wee, our only female barn cat. Both of them are our only “true” barn cats and do not care for human attention. They live together in the upstairs level of our big barn, where they have lots of privacy and tons of beams and bales of hay and straw to lounge on.
Over the years, we’ve been able to gain their trust a little bit. They allow us to come a little bit closer and sometimes we can sneak in some head scritches during meal times - if we’re lucky.
Oscar and Wee love to explore the sanctuary during the quiet hours and can be found lounging outside out of big barn together.
