Hi, I’m Lupin

Lupin was brought to Barn Sanctuary in the summer of 2020 from Humane Society of Huron Valley. He had been trapped as part of their Trap-Neuter-Return program and was not able to be released due to health complications. He had severe stomatitis, tongue lesions, and had recently had his tail partially amputated due to past trauma.

After Lupin arrived, we discovered that he has Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. He had several dental procedures to remove all of his teeth because they were causing him constant pain. Despite having no teeth, he has a very healthy appetite! In addition to FIV, he also has asthma and gets daily treatments from his inhaler.

Lupin is a bit of a grumpy old man and typically doesn’t venture much further than the Shelter trailer. On a rare occasion, he can be spotted near the coops.

He loves affection but only on his own terms (typical cat!). Depending on the time of year, he sometimes can be seen sporting a very bad haircut! Due to his thick coat and dental issues, he doesn’t groom as well as he should, so he requires regular haircuts so his hair doesn’t become matted. He is overall a very special guy!
