Hi, I’m Jasper

In December 2016 Jasper became Barn Sanctuary’s first pig rescue! He grew up living with a human but was unexpectedly abandoned. Jasper was full grown, weighing over 650 pounds, when a horse sanctuary in Vermont found him. With his emotional eyes and affable attitude, it’s no surprise they fell in love.

They didn’t want to let him to go to slaughter, so they started looking for a home for this big guy. After hearing the heartbreaking news that Jasper had lost his best human friend and needed help, we knew we had to bring him to Barn Sanctuary.

Jasper enjoys being around people and is not easily spooked or excitable. He has a giant, loving heart and enjoys sunbathing, belly rubs and human company. Occasionally you’ll catch him running through the pasture barking, but most of the time he prefers long naps. He remains one of the happiest and most relaxed pigs at the sanctuary.

Sponsorships help us provide daily care, regular medical checkups, and cover any unexpected emergency care costs for each animal. Sponsor Jasper to help us provide the care he deserves!
