Giving Tuesday

Join us this season of giving to create a more compassionate world for farmed animals everywhere.

Changing the hearts and minds of millions of people across the globe and providing high quality care for over 100 rescued farmed animals is no easy task. We rely heavily on your generosity and ongoing commitment to support our mission and vision for the future.

Thank you for your help.

Farmed animals are some of the most abused animals on the planet. It’s time that the world sees them as the smart, hilarious, sensitive and life-enriching individuals they are.

– Kelly Holt, Executive Director

Your Loyal Support Makes It Happen

By giving to Barn Sanctuary, you help us rescue and rehabilitate abused and neglected farmed animals by providing a safe haven where they can recover, thrive, and serve as an example for why we strive to lead society towards a more compassionate lifestyle.

You help us to show farmed animals in a new light, highlighting their individuality through sharing their unique stories. Plus, you become an essential part of a welcoming community where all people feel empowered to participate in our mission by volunteering, visiting and advocating on behalf of animals.

Big Strides in 2020

In the four short years since our founding, Barn Sanctuary has rescued over 250 animals and provided a home and ongoing care for over 120 rescued animals at the sanctuary.

Read some exciting milestones from 2020:

New sustainability initiatives! This year we took our first steps toward a 100% renewable energy future. We installed solar and wind powered electricity for the pig barn. We also created a community garden, where we plan to host educational tours about how plant-based eating reduces our impact on the environment and saves the lives of animals too.

Saved By The Barn Season 1. Our TV series, Saved By The Barn, premiered on Animal Planet with 12 hour long episodes. The show has reached hundreds of millions of people across the world, highlighting the poignant and individual stories of our incredible family of rescued farmed animals at the sanctuary.

Virtual Visits. This year we launched a variety of virtual tours, field trips and other online educational events, inviting over 1,600 people from around the world to “virtually” visit the sanctuary, meet the animals and learn about our mission.

Factory Farm Rescue. Barn Sanctuary partnered with Iowa Farm Sanctuary to rescue 61 hens from a factory farm in Iowa that closed due to COVID-19. Huffington Post covered the rescue.

Kitchen Companion Meal Planner. This year we welcomed many more animal loving folk to plant-based lifestyle via our introductory meal planner, Kitchen Companion!

Please Invest in a Better Future for Us All

We need your support now more than ever to continue our life-changing work for farmed animals; reaching more hearts and minds, inviting more people to the sanctuary, rescuing more animals in need and expanding our overall impact.

We have a courageous and challenging vision, a committed and skilled team, and an inspiring family of rescued animals, but we can’t fulfill our mission or change more lives without you.
