Year-End Giving Fundraiser

Posted December 22, 2022 in Campaigns

Hi Barn Fam!

Can you believe 2023 is right around the corner? It seems like 2022 has just flown by! With a new year comes new responsibilities and challenges for our residents. Rising costs, winter weather, and urgent rescues put a strain on our resources. Your donations help Barn raise a significant portion of funds we’ll need for the upcoming new year. We’re hoping this year we can count on you to help once again.

While so much of our world has changed in the last couple of years, our shelter residents’ needs remain the same. They are still relying on Barn Sanctuary -and generous friends like you- to keep them safe, warm and well-fed, especially during our most challenging time of the year, winter in Michigan.

A donation from you helps us take care of over 100 animals, many of whom have special needs, including Mabel, a cow with mobility issues who is at higher risk of slipping during icy conditions.

When it comes to sanctuary life in Michigan, winter is the most expensive part of the year. From stocking up on food and bedding to completing essential maintenance and repairs, the numbers add up quickly. With your year-end support, we can accomplish these vital projects before the bad weather hits.

Caring for these animals is always a big job, but it’s even more demanding in the winter and is only possible with your contribution. Without grass to graze, our cows, sheep, and goats need hay to eat. And the colder it is outside, the more they must eat to stay warm.

Many of our shelter residents are just like Lola: Unsteady on their feet, hooves, or prosthetics from injury or abuse. Some have a hard time keeping themselves warm, which makes freezing temperatures a real danger.

Yearly hay cost fluctuations are an annual budget challenge, but this year we’re facing increased costs for all food, bedding, and electricity to power wall heaters and lights during the cold months ahead.

Beyond caring for our current residents, we never know when the next call about farmed animals in crisis will come in, so we must be ready. Thanks to you, we provide our residents with the life we believe all farmed animals deserve. From top-notch medical care to plenty of pasture space, your donation means we can give abused and neglected animals a safe haven for the rest of their lives.

Please donate now so we can continue our work of making the world a more compassionate place for farmed animals. Thank you in advance for sharing the warmth of your heart with our animals this new year and beyond.
