Photos of Steve

See All

Steve hopped off the trailer into his new house at Barn Sanctuary in October 2017. His other two amigos, Martin, and Chevy with him. The three goats had been together for a few months at that point and had experienced a traumatic event together.

Earlier that summer they were packed tightly into a trailer surrounded by other goats and sheep. The owners of the truck that pulled them decided to run from the police in what news stations later called a “high-speed chase,” goats and sheep in tow. The driver crashed the trailer during the chase and several of the animals inside died from injuries. Chevy was one of the lucky survivors. The drivers were charged with over 80 offenses, including animal cruelty.

Steve has developed a fan following during his time at Barn Sanctuary. He was once the shyest one in the herd, but after being at Barn Sanctuary for a few months his personality blossomed. He has now been given the nickname “Creepy Steve” because he likes attention and people so much, that he will quietly creep up behind people and rub his head on them. There is not a person or event that happens in the goat pasture that Steve doesn’t personally investigate or observe carefully from afar. He will even randomly appear in the background of people’s photos, looking right into the camera lens.

Sponsorships help us provide daily care, regular medical checkups and cover any unexpected emergency care costs for each animal. Sponsor Steve to help us provide the care he deserves!
