See All

Martin hopped off the trailer onto the grass at Barn Sanctuary on October 2017, along with his other two amigos, Steve and Chevy. The three amigos had been together for a few months at that point and had experienced a traumatic event together, along with our two sheep residents Rose and Ruth.

Earlier that summer they were packed tightly into a trailer surrounded by other goats and sheep. The owners of the truck that pulled them decided to run from the police in what news stations later called a “high-speed chase,” with goats and sheep in tow. The driver crashed the trailer during the chase, and several of the animals inside died from their injuries. Martin was one of the lucky survivors. The drivers were charged with over 80 offenses, including animal cruelty.

Martin is our resident oddball and underdog. He was disbudded as a young goat, so he’s the only one in his friend group without horns. He loves to hang with his favorite lady, Ellen, and go for runs through the pasture.

Sponsorships help us provide daily care, regular medical checkups, and cover any unexpected emergency care costs for each animal. Sponsor Martin to help us provide the care he deserves!
